K.L. Ο Rahul ηγείται της ινδικής ομάδας στο τεστ κρίκετ τα τελευταία δύο χρόνια.
Just 2 days remain for the IND vs AUS Pink Ball Test in Adelaide. Naturally, questions have been raised about India Playing XI. This is mainly owing to the fact that both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are back in the squad and starting XI. This now raises the question – Where will KL Rahul bat? Will he retain his opening spot or will he have to slot down in the middle order?
As per the rumors surrounding the India Cricket Team, it is believed that Rohit Sharma would sacrifice his opening spot for KL Rahul. And this means, Rohit Sharma will have to slot in the middle like he did in India’s warmup match against Prime Minister XI in Canberra.
KL Rahul in Middle Order
Statistically speaking KL Rahul has been a huge hit as an opener for India in Tests. But off late he has been deemed as a middle-order batter. And his preferred spot in the IND vs AUS Pink Ball Adelaide Test should be at number 6. KL Rahul has his best strike rate (69.23) which bodes well.
It makes no sense for Rohit Sharma to leave his opening spot. Despite the fact that KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal had a good bond in the Perth Test, India is now up for a massive challenge. After ages, India will be playing a Pink Ball Test match, and the horrors of the previous, 36-all out are still fresh.
KL Rahul at number 6 will be a safe choice to anchor the innings. He doesn’t need to hit runs in a flurry and can control the innings when the ball starts to become slow and worn out. It can be believed that the change in position for the Perth Test was a one-off affair and now with normalcy being resumed, KL Rahul naturally needs to slot in down the order.
