The stage is set for a grand affair. The India Cricket Team under captain Rohit Sharma will take on Bangladesh in their opening game of the ICC Champions Trophy. However, a day prior to the game, the Indian camp was filled with fun and laughter. And leading the charge was the captain, the Hitman – Rohit Sharma.
While the pressure remains on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to deliver, the mood in the camp was far relaxed. In fact, the players were spotted hugging their captain, the Big Brother. The Indian stars went on to hug Rohit Sharma who was sporting a smile while playing football during India’s practice session.
Team India determined for a great start
The India Cricket Team will play all their matches in Dubai. While Pakistan is the host of the tournament, India has refused to travel to their neighboring nation and thus will play all their matches in Dubai – a neutral venue. India are prime favorites to lift the trophy.
In the 50-over format, India came close last time. They lost the 2017 finals to Pakistan and in 2the 023 ODI World Cup, they lost the finals to Australia. But, last year, India lifted the ICC T20 World Cup and fans will be hoping Rohit Sharma to replicate the same.
The joyous mood in the Indian camp is definitive proof that the team is relaxed and eager to go all out in the tournament. While many predict this can be the last ICC event for Rohit, who would desperately want to win this silverware before retiring.
