IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made their Indian Premier League debut back in 2022. Under the leadership of KL Rahul, LSG also reached the top four teams in that edition. LSG then went on to repeat their antics of 2022 and reached the semi-finals of IPL 2023. However, the Lucknow-based franchise failed to reach the playoff stages in IPL 2024. In the IPL 2025 mega auction, LSG purchased Rishabh Pant for a whopping sum of Rs 27 crore and he is likely to lead the franchise in the upcoming edition. KL Rahul

As stated above, KL Rahul was named as LSG skipper after its formation in 2022. Overall, he has captained LSG in 25 matches and won 14 of them. On the other hand, he has lost 11 games. Rahul was ruled out of the IPL 2023 during its middle stages. In IPL 2024, Rahul led the LSG franchise once again.

Krunal Pandya

After KL Rahul’s absence, Krunal Pandya has handed over the leadership role in 2023. The all-rounder has led LSG in six games. Of those six matches, Krunal has won 3 games as the skipper, while one match ended with no result.

Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran was made LSG captain in their second match of the IPL 2024. Pooran led LSG against the Punjab Kings in a group stage match of the IPL 2024. Under his leadership, Lucknow won its first match of the ongoing edition.

Who will be LSG’s IPL 2025 captain?

Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is all set to become the new captain of Indian Premier League side Lucknow Super Giants. As stated above, the 27-year-old cricketer was signed for Rs 27 crore by LSG in the IPL 2025 mega auction, which was held in Jeddah last year. According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, “Rishabh Pant is set to be named captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of IPL 2025.”
